4/10-24

April arrived faster than I could blink, and the pace has been fast. I have been juggling my job at EasyScanning, a full-time position at the bank, and my own business, which I have had since my days at UF. It has been intense days, early mornings, and late evenings, but also a strong feeling of being on the right track.
The pitch was anything but optimal. I had a bad cold and had to do it digitally, as COVID was still throwing a spanner in the works. Despite this, I got the call that made me jump up and dance around the kitchen: we had made it to the final.
One morning shortly thereafter, I got in my car at 5:00 a.m. and headed for Umeå. It felt like revenge I had been carrying with me since Årets Unga Idé(Young Idea of the Year). My business idea had been nominated for Sweden's largest and oldest start-up competition, Venture Cup, and I was competing for the northern region.
Not only that, but EasyScanning also won the Norrland start-up award "Impact Maker." As you can see in the picture, I also received a check that barely fit in my car. It was a moment of pride that is difficult to put into words.
After receiving that award, I went on to Helsingborg, where I presented my innovation in the Swedish finals against the other regions. I wasn't as happy with my pitch there, and it wasn't enough to win the title of Sweden's start-up.
But I can still proudly say that EasyScanning ranked among the top 16 start-ups in Sweden in 2024, and that's something I'll definitely take with me going forward.
