Our history

EasyScanning was born out of our own experiences with allergies, both personal and within the family. When our founder's older brother suffered from a severe nut allergy, it became clear how quickly a mistake can have serious consequences. One wrong purchase, one bite, and suddenly it's all about acting in time. Right then and there, we realized that avoiding certain foods shouldn't have to be difficult or risky.

Our belief is simple: taking allergies or special dietary requirements into account should not pose a health risk. Whether you are shopping for yourself or someone else, it should be safe, simple, and clear. EasyScanning was created for people like our founder's brother and for anyone else who needs or wants to avoid certain ingredients, without having to read every ingredient list or risk serious health complications.

In addition to his personal connection to allergies, EasyScanning's founder, Joel, also has experience working in a grocery store. There, he was often asked, "What does this product contain?" In a stressful store environment, with many customers and tasks, it's easy to miss details. When ingredient lists are not carefully reviewed, answers risk becoming guesswork rather than facts, which can have serious consequences for the customer.

It quickly became clear that this was not sustainable. Customers rely on the knowledge of store staff, and when that trust is broken, there is an increased risk of someone consuming something they cannot tolerate. EasyScanning is therefore not only a solution for consumers, but also a support for stores and their employees, creating a safer, simpler, and more reliable everyday life for everyone.
